Malawi

Primary 7a and 7b are learning about Malawi this term. We have been in contact with the organisation ‘Mary’s Meals’ and they are coming to tell us more about what we can do to support them.

If you have any links or expertise related to Malawi, we would love to hear from you.

Thank you.

Tartan tribe!

Our topic this term is Scotland. This week we learned about Robert Burns and heard some of his songs and poetry. Some of us were excited to celebrate Burn’s night by wearing our tartan clothes to school. We looked fabulous! We did lots of Scottish activities today and had a great time.

School Update

Thursday 18 January

** Update 7am, Thursday 18 January **

All our schools are expected to be open today.

** Bus transport **

All council-operated buses for pupils attending Additional Support Needs (ASN) schools have been cancelled on Thursday 18 January. There may be disruption to other transport. Private contractors make decisions about their ability to provide the service in bad weather. We will update this page with specific issues we are made aware of.

** Prelim examinations **

All prelim examinations scheduled to take place in North Lanarkshire secondary schools on Thursday 18 January have been postponed due to the adverse weather conditions. Schools will inform young people and parents of the revised arrangements.

*** AMBER WEATHER WARNING ***

An Amber weather warning is in place until 5am on Thursday. While there is likely to be heavy snowfall in south Scotland, there is less certainty how this might affect North Lanarkshire. We will assess conditions and provide an update at 7am if we intend to close any schools.

Please check https://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=20199 for further updates.
