A Local Walk

Today we went on a walk to Muirhead.  On the way we had to walk up a busy road but we were very careful.  We walked past the butcher shop first and then we saw the chip shop, the Co-op, Soaves, a doctors, a dentist, the Rainbow hall (Snowdrop nursery!), a vet, the pet shop and the park.

Some Primary 6 friends came with along to help us stay safe.  We all enjoyed our walk.  It was cold but nice.

Smoothie fun

Yesterday we made smoothies. We used berries, bananas, yogurt and milk. The berries we used were blueberries, strawberries, cranberries, raspberries and blackberries. Some people said that they were yummy in our tummies. They were very tangy and tasty.

Making fruit kebabs

On Wednesday, we went up to the cooking space and made fruit kebabs. We used a mango, strawberries, two kinds of melon, red grapes and green grapes. We put them onto bamboo sticks and then once everyone had made a fruit kebab we took them back to the class to eat them. They were yummy, slippery, scrummy, juicy, tasty and sweet!!

What a lot of good describing words we thought of@!

Lost Bear

Today we found a bear called Denny Bear. We would like to know if anyone owns him. We made “FOUND’ posters to see if we can find his owners. Two of our class went to ask the other classes if they know Denny Bear but no-one knew who he was.

Denny Bear is fluffy, cute amd friendly but a little bit sad at the moment. He really wants to find his owners.

Fruit tasting fun!

On Wednesday we tasted fruits form different countries. The fruis we tasted are:
Pineapple from Costa Rica
Bananas from Dominican Republic
Kiwi from New Zealand
Pomegranites from Spain
Persimmon from China

Wow, what a lot of different countries they came from.
We looked on the map to see where these countries are.

Words we used to describe the fruits we tasted are – juicy, yummy, tasty, lovely, sweet and delicious.

We learned how to hold a knife when cutting. We know two different holds, a bridge and a claw.

Next week we are going to make smoothies. Watch this space!!
