Our 5 Senses

In the afternoon we worked at lots of different senses stations. There was one station for each different sense.

For touch we had to touch lots of different things. There was a bowl of sand, cotton wool, polystyrene balls and the little cubes. There was also a book of braille to give us a chance to explore how someone without sight might read.

At the smell station we had to smell each cup and try to work out what was inside. This was a little tricky because we thought some smelled the same.

For taste we had to try different kinds of food. We tried sour sweeties, marshmallows, carrots and breadsticks.  We worked in our groups to tell Mrs Ryan what each things tasted like.

For sound we used our musical instruments to make lots of different sounds.

For sight we had to take a magnifying glass and look at different objects really closely. After that we tried to draw a picture of them.  We said that this was quite tricky because you could only see a very small part of each object with the magnifying glass at a time.

We had great fun during our senses afternoon.
