John Muir Award

To successfully obtain the John Muir Award in S1, pupils must Discover, Explore, Conserve and Share a wild place. Through our outdoor classroom at Strathclyde park pupils;

  • Take part in a problem solving tasks within the school a few weeks before the activities.
  • They take part in 7 activities across 3 days – water sports, habitat sampling, cycling tour, orienteering, team building, art projects and bridge building.
  • Following the project, they then share their experience by completing a ‘Four Challenge Review’ to show how they have met their criteria for the award. This is completed during PSHE.

The programme is run by Miss Lyttle and Mr Conboy.
