The Primary 7’s from all the local feeder schools took part in a super Science Workshop yesterday. The children were involved in 6 different, hands on science experiments in small mixed groups of 3 or 4 pupils. The senior pupils leading the experiments were knowledgeable and worked well with the children. It was a super addition to the transition programme that the Academy already run. The children from Balmalloch were really enthusiastic about their experience – a great morning.

Hannah- Be careful next to pumpkins that have candles.
Andrew- Stay away from clowns.
Steven- Wear reflective clothes so that drivers can see you.
Fraser- Have a flashlight.
Lewis- Make sure your costume isn’t too long or you will trip.
Aaron- Don’t walk away from parents.
Lewis- Don’t go into other peoples houses.
Freya- Always tell your parents where you are going.
Kenzie- Stay away from strangers.
Christopher- Don’t eat any strange looking candy.
On Friday, we had great fun in our base where we did a variety of Halloween activities. We made Witches Hats which we quickly ate, wrote some spooky stories and made some terrifying ghosts! We played games and pulled some scary poses.
We’ve been outdoors looking at all the beautiful colours of Autumn.
Then busy at work in the classroom writing a recount on our Autumn Walk and then creating our own Autumn trees using paint and tissue paper. On Saturday we had a spooky, fun filled morning at our Halloween craft and games morning. Thank you to all of the PTA members, parents and staff who gave their time to make this such a fun morning for all of the children.
We had a really fun afternoon on Friday. All of the children dressed up and enjoyed fun activities. The infants played pass the parcel, Halloween corners, danced the Hokey Cokey and the cha cha slide and enjoyed the parade around the school.
