The eels have arrived!

Paul and Willie came back to visit P6 today.  They had an ‘eelly’ good time before so decided they wanted to work with us again.

They brought a few friends with them once again.  We are now caring for European Eels.  These are on the IUCN critically endangered list so we have a big responsibility to look after them.

Releasing our fish.

After 6 weeks of looking after our fish eggs they were finally ready to be released into the Garell Burn.  Willie came with us and guided us through the best way to do it. Well done Primary 6, a very successful batch of fish.

Library Visit

Primary 6 have been enjoying their monthly visits to the library.  They are picking some super books.  We did something slightly different this time for World Book Day.  We played Literacy Charades and worked together to create a story too.

Technology Challenge

When half the class were away to the North Lanarkshire Athletics competition, we decided to try a technology challenge.  The children were given a range of different technology materials to work with.  They had to try and build a replica of the Finnieston Crane.  Here’s how they got on.  Some had more success than others.

The weekend was a success when we came back we only had to remove 1 egg and today we had our first hatched egg.  Then another one followed this afternoon.  Willie brought us another 100 eggs as they miscounted the eggs.
