Leadership Academy – Making orange juice

Primary 4 Visit Vikingar!

    Mrs Maitland and I had the pleasure of accompanying Primary 4 on an educational outing to Vikingar today.   The boys and girls enjoyed extending their learning about the Vikings and also impressed our tour guides by showing off their prior knowledge .  The children participated in many activities including dressing up in authentic Viking  clothing, visiting a longhouse and watching a movie about the Battle of Largs in our own private cinema screening!  The day ended

Primary 4 Viking Art

Primary 3 and 4 Golden Time

This term primary 3 and 4 joined together to enjoy golden time. Each week children can choose from arts and crafts, i-pads, games, library, lego, magnetics or an active activity with Mrs Maitland outside or in the hall. Primary 4 Traffic Survey

Last week Primary 4 took learning outdoors when they conducted a traffic survey on Old Edinburgh Road.  They used the data they collected as part of their information handling topic.  The children were accompanied by Mrs Russell and Mrs Moran who thought they looked very official with their clip boards and were very impressed by how serious the children took their role.  Well done Primary 4 you did a great job!

Treasure Hunting in Primary Four!

The boys and girls in Primary 4 took their learning outdoors last week.  They had to use their mental maths skills to solve a range of addition and subtraction problems and then find the answers hidden around the playground.  Each answer contained a letter which the children recorded and used to help them get closer to the treasure.  The children said it was an exciting challenge but harder than they thought.  There were lots of tired

Last Friday, it was the turn of P1, P4 and P6 to present what they have been learning in class. What a wonderful afternoon it was.
