The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark – P3
Over the last few weeks we have been reading The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark as our class novel. Lots of our literacy work in class has linked to this novel. In Primary 3, we have started our new maths topic ‘money’ with Mrs Devine. We are learning how to use the 50p coin. We can count the total of coins up to £1 and we can lay out different coin combinations up to £1. Some of us are practising how to count up in 10s and 20s to make this easier for us. P1-3 SSPCA Visit
P1 to P3 enjoyed a visit from the SSPCA on Friday. They learned about how litter can be dangerous for animals and that it is important to research a pet’s needs before getting one.

P3 Phonics and Tessellation Pattern Making
Here are some photos of what Primary 3 have been learning this week. In phonics, we’ve been practicing our new phonemes with our partner. P3 Halloween Taught Writing
Today we had the excitement of carving a pumpkin and writing instructions to tell others how to do it. We were trying very hard not to miss out any steps and write in time order. Every week we self or peer assess our writing to give ourselves both positive feedback and next steps to work on. We are becoming much better at doing this. Great job primary 3!

A great day for Primary 3
We are so excited today. Not only have we won class of the week, getting an extra 10 minute playtime next week but we’ve also enjoyed tasting our ice-lollies we made yesterday!

Primary 3 Science
I am learning about solids, liquids and gases. Three things I learned today are: I learned that when you boil water in a kettle it evaporates into steam. Leadership Academy – Making orange juice
Pupils in P2-P7 enjoyed their first Leadership Academy in Fairtrade and cooking with Ms Whiston and Miss Lalmy. They learnt about the parts of the orange, they got to taste it and then they juiced them.
