P5 have been very busy making cards for their loved ones containing nice Valentine’s Day messages. They were very excited to use shiny card. Here they are hard at work 😃
Today Jenna (P4) and Ethan (P3) updated the pupils at assembly on our Rights Respecting School journey. Thank you to both of you. We are pleased to announce we have received our Bronze Award and are now working towards silver! Well done Aitkenhead Primary School 😄👏
Primary 5 have enjoyed progressing their ‘mirror, match and in canon’ movements onto the apparatus. They worked with a partner on different pieces of equipment to show a variety of balances and skills. The wall bars were certainly popular!! Well done children 🙂
This morning P5 started a new gymnastics block in P.E. They worked with a partner to match and mirror each other’s actions and movements. They then worked in small groups to perform movements in canon ~ one at a time. Next week they will progress to using these 3 techniques on the apparatus. Great work P5!
P4 & 5 had a fantastic time at their Christmas party. They danced, played games and enjoyed some snacks. They all looked fabulous! Well done to those who won games and thank you to Scott and Zak from P7 for being our super DJ’s.
Primary 5 have been working in groups to plan and prepare how they could investigate the speed at which mould appears on fruit. They discussed possible variables that could be tested and the five variables chosen are: type of fruit, moisture, temperature, exposure to light and size of fruit pieces. Thank you very much to Mrs Millar who came in to speak to our RRS Steering Group about her amazing job. Mrs Millar works for Clic Sargent which is a charitable organisation that supports young people who have cancer. The children were very engaged as they listened to the fantastic work this organisation does. The children have been inspired with some fundraising ideas for the future. They did very well
P4-7 participated in a drama workshop this afternoon delivered by Takeaway Productions. Pupils enjoyed watching a very important production about the concept of bullying and then took part in a workshop afterwards to discuss the content and think about how the story ends. Pupil participation was excellent and Sam (P7), Amy (P6) and Jamie (P5) really enjoyed being Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and David Walliams. Their face masks made us
P5 had loads of fun learning some Michael Jackson moves which they then used to create their own sequence of steps. They danced to THRILLER and worked very well in their small groups. Check out their moves!
