What is Modern Studies?

Modern Studies is a subject that is concerned with the study of local, national and international issues from a social, political and economic perspective.

What will you study?

Pupils will study a balanced and broad curriculum based on a varied content and a number of concepts chosen for their relevance to the world we live in. These include topics such as:

• Law & Order
• U.K. and Scottish Political Systems
• The Developing World
• Conflict & International Terrorism
• World Powers
• World Issues
• Inequality

Modern Studies can prepare pupils for the following careers: secondary school teacher, social worker, local government worker, law.
