Congratulations and well done to all our children in P4 who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday.  It was a beautiful service and a very memorable occasion for all.  The children were very prayerful and sang beautifully – I was very proud of them.  Thanks to all those who worked so hard in preparing the children  in school, in the parish and at home.

P2/1 performed  a fabulous assembly on Friday all about the Commonwealth Games.  The children were so confident in their delivery of their lines and songs, everyone really enjoyed seeing them.  We were also honoured to have a world class pianist, composer and conductor play at our assembly on Friday.  Martin Gluch had come to visit the Polish School and ourselves, he is a professional musician who cares very much about music teaching from the earliest level.  Our P3-7 children had a very valuable experience working with Martin throughout the day.

Well done to our latest H Factor Award winners who have worked hard to achieve  their certificate, badge and pencil.  I’m sure they will wear the badge with pride.

Our road safety committee recently organised a competition related to the Commonwealth games and road safety.  Our winners were given some great prizes for their fantastic designs.

Please note a change to inservice days for next session.  We have just been made aware of the changes by NLC.  The new dates are Thursday 18th September and Thursday 7th May 2015.  These dates coincide with election dates.  There will no longer be a Primary inservice day in November.

All children have been given a letter with details about the parish project for Malawi.  We have been asked to aim to prepare 400 backpacks to be delivered to our partner school in September this year.  Please be as generous as possible.

Finally I have created a Twitter Account for the school for news, updates and photos.  If you have a smart phone or tablet you may wish to follow us on Twitter @BernadettesPS. I am hoping to use our Twitter account to keep everyone updated on our outdoor experience in Aviemore this week.
