Happy Hallowe’en

We’ve had great fun in school today seeing the P1-3 children all dressed up for Hallow’en.  Thanks to all who came along to hear the children sing their songs and recite their poems.  The children did really well to have learned so much.

Yesterday we also had a great day out with P6 & P7 in Edinburgh.  Firstly we went to the City Arts Centre to see an exhibition about the making of the Lion King.  It was fascinating to read about and see all the ideas and samples of costumes and masks.  We then had a lovely walk through Edinburgh to the Playhouse Theatre where we took our seats for the performance.  We were really lucky to have seats at the front of the balcony so everyone had a great view.  Everyone agreed the show was fabulous!  The actors, costumes, music, puppets, lights and scenes combined to make a truly unforgettable show.  Once again I was very proud of how our children conducted themselves and responded to the experiences throughout the day.  Well done everyone!  We are now hoping to use the inspiration to put on a really impressive Christmas Show of our own!

Tomorrow we will go to Mass together to celebrate All Saints day.  We are also looking forward to welcoming a Karate tutor who will work with our P4-7 classes.  Shortly a Karate class will be starting in the Pat Cullinan Centre for anyone who is interested.

This week we also received confirmation that we have been awarded funding from NHS Community Food and Health to offer Big Chef Little Chef cooking classes to pupils and parents over the course of the year.  We are really excited about this project and will let everyone know dates and times as soon as possible.
