We are learning how to hold the stick, dribble the puck and shoot. The children are also learning to find their comfortable body position bending their knees and using the stick. They are loving it!
This afternoon Room 3 had a Scottish Food Tasting afternoon to celebrate Burns. We tried haggis, neeps and tatties, Scottish oatcakes with cream cheese, smoked salmon, shortbread, tablet and Irn Bru. The haggis was very popular and all of the children really enjoyed trying new foods.
This week we have had so much fun learning our spelling and phonics words. We used paint to practice fine motor skills and spell at the same time.
In Maths we have been learning number bonds and counting within 100. We used lots of active games and hands on practice to improve our skills.
In IDL we were researching the people who live in the Rainforest and found out that they often paint their faces or bodies during celebrations. This inspired us to make our own masks in Art.
Room 10 celebrated Burns Day by tasting haggis, neeps and tatties and finishing off the day with some delicious shortbread! Yum!!
Room 14 visited the boys and girls in Room 1 for Storytelling. We really enjoyed hearing all their imaginative stories about Barney the dinosaur!
