Maths Week

Primary 4 have been busy researching, planning and making their very own time games. They have created fantastic time games and have had the opportunity to play them with different groups in our own class. We plan to share and play our games with other classes in the school. Well done children!

Our games

In groups the children came up with a game. The ranged from target practise, board games, drawing and a movie quiz. The groups had to come up with rules & procedures for their game and explain it to the class. Each group worked very hard to achieve the criteria given to them.

Healthy snacks on health week!

On Wednesday we made a ladybird oat cake and we also made an apple skewer and we decorated it with icing. The ingredients where oat cakes, cherry tomatoes and purple grapes. For the apple skewer we put six green grapes on it. By Peyton.

I mostly enjoyed the oat cake. It was really fun making the stuff and trying it. – Peyton

It was good but I enjoyed the skewer better. – Lewis

It was fun and I enjoyed all of it.-Erin K

I liked the skewers but didn’t really like the tomatoes or the oat cakes. – Ethan

Stirling castle

On Tuesday we visited Stirling castle. We had a great time and learnt loads about it. Here are some of the things the children wanted to share.

The castle was quite hilly. – Erin U

The castle was much bigger than what I expected. – Erin K

Stirling castle was built on top of a volcano. – Aaron

We found out that only the royal family were allowed to wear purple. – Noah

If you looked at the view from the castle you could see the Wallace Monument. – Eilidh

My favourite part was when we got to dress up and act. – Elli

I saw a lot more than I thought I was going to. – Ayva

Fractions

We want to share everything we know about fractions!

We can find fractions on a number line. Elli

We know that the denominator goes at the bottom and the numerator goes at the top. Eilidh

We know that the denominator is how many we have in total. Klea

We know that the numerator is how many pieces you have taken. Michael

We know that 2/4 is the same as 1/2. Noah

We have enjoyed learning about fractions and have learnt lots of new information. We enjoyed working on stations and using some ICT equipment.
