Choose College Virtual Showcase

Join us for the first ever Choose College Virtual Showcase!

Wednesday 26 May 3-5pm & 7-9pm

The first of its kind, this sector wide, Choose College Virtual event will see 19 colleges from across Scotland come together to showcase all that college has to offer.

Designed to inspire and engage, the event will provide prospective students with an opportunity to hear from keynote speakers, visit college exhibition stands to learn more on: courses, levels of study, progression routes, careers, apprenticeships and college life including wellbeing and services to assist their learning.

With the current restrictions in place and all physical school career events on hold this is an excellent opportunity for students, parents, carers and teachers to find out everything they need to know about studying at college.

S4 Options for Fifth Year

S4 pupils were issued with their options forms for next year (S5), once completed they should be placed in the relevant box in Mr Brown’s office.   Information has also been posted on the S4 Microsoft Team to help them choose their subjects.  Mr Brown and Mrs McGhee will be hosting a virtual options meeting on Tuesday 27th April between 4.30pm and 5.30pm – pupils should sign in using their Glow Account to allow parents to participate.

S3 Options Information

Today S3 were given out their “Option Forms” for next year (S4). All the information is posted in the “SDS Career/Option” channel on S3 Teams. We will be holding a Q&A session for parents and pupils on Teams this Monday April 26th between 4.30pm and 5.30pm.

This COVID 19 testing programme is being led by the Department for Health and Social Care and the Scottish Government to provide asymptomatic testing in schools for staff and senior pupils.

Taking part in testing is voluntary. There is no expectation or obligation to participate.

Nobody should be required to undergo testing without consent, and nobody should be excluded from school if they do not wish to test.

Please read the following and complete the questions below as soon as possible.

When you click the ‘Submit’ button, the form will be returned to your school.

This form should be completed as follows:

• for pupils younger than 16 years, this form must be completed by the parent or legal guardian. Remember to complete one consent form for each child you wish to enrol.

• for pupils over 16 who are able to provide informed consent, this form can be completed by themselves, having discussed participation with their parent/guardian.

• for any pupil who does not have the capacity to provide informed consent – this form must be completed by the parent or legal guardian.

• staff should complete this form themselves. For parents/carers/guardians of under 16s: you should ensure you have discussed the testing with your child and that they are happy to participate.

If on the day of testing they do not wish to take part, then they will not be made to do so.
