Loving Creator, you have made us in your image
And we yearn for the healing of all your people.
Fill our hearts with the fire of your love
And our minds with a thirst for justice.
Embolden us to cry out against oppression,
Empower us to work for the coming of your kingdom,
And enrich us with your life-giving spirit
So that all creation may feel your touch and be healed.
We ask this in the name of our crucified, risen Lord,
Our liberator and redeemer, Jesus Christ.
Amen.

With You and in you. Amen

We have so far raised a fantastic amount of goods for the local Baby Bank. Can I ask that you remember this initiative again when you are doing your weekly shop this weekend – pop a few items in your trolley.
These talented boys from 1C outlasted everyone in the class answering a “Round Robin” quiz about “What we know about America”. It was a hard fought battle down to the last four – Well Done.
Friday has arrived and we are reminded of Lenten promises regarding fasting. Help us keep you in our thoughts and deeds today as we work hard completing another week at school. May our focus be on strengthening our relationship with you through prayer and fasting. The power of prayer and fasting can really have a positive impact on our lives. May we live for You in all we do.

Sometimes it can seem that we are struggling to fit in all that we have to do each day. Sometimes we have begun our lunch when we realise that we have forgotten about daily mass in the theatre. Or sometimes peer pressure can make rushing for lunch seem more important.
During this time of renewal, Lord, we know that you do not ask anything of us that you have not first given us. Each one of us have a place in your heart. Help us to make time to communicate with you each day to give us the strength to continue along our Lenten journey.
School Prayer

There will be a Political Literacy meeting on Thursday March 10 after school in Mrs McNeill’s room. The agenda this week will focus on organising voter registration for all eligible 16 year olds, and, an evaluation of the success of the Homeroom programme to raise political awareness. New members are more than welcome.
Come back to me, with all your heart.
Don’t let fear keep us apart. Trees do bend, tho’ straight and tall.
So must we, to others’ call.
As we have to opportunity today for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, help us to focus on the strength and courage we can gain from this beautiful encounter with You. Open our hearts to Your grace and give us the power of Your loving peace.

On Thursday, 26 May, the school will take part in the Tinto Hill Challenge. This event will be open to S3 pupils only. The walk will start at 9.45am and we will be back in school for 2.30pm.
Any interested pupils please come down to the PE department and pay £10 to secure your place. By getting involved in this event and raising valuable sponsorship monies you are helping the hospice on its continued quest to raise £65,000 each week. These vital funds enable the hospice to continue to provide specialist care and support services to patients and their families throughout Lanarkshire’s communities. Any queries, please see Mr Mc Cart or Mr Egan in PE.
Our S3 pupils will be making their choices for subjects to study in S4. Please click onto the link below for our Senior Phase Pathways booklet for information on subjects available.
With this week, we begin the second part of Lent. We ask more and more deeply to be with and like Jesus. Sometimes the simplest acts like holding a door open or saying ‘Good morning’ can remind others of the goodness in each and every one of us. May we be motivated to experience your love and to focus on small acts of kindness to one another.
Lord be with me today in all my thoughts, deeds and words. Help me to see you in everyone I meet and to spread your love through my actions.
School Prayer
Lord, I thank you for bringing me to another day.
May I live it completely for You,
Through you,
With You and in you. Amen
