Today’s S5 assembly was with John Chival @OutwardBoundUK, who was encouraging pupils to participate in the Mark Scott Leadership Award.
The Mark Scott Leadership for Life Award brings together over 220 pupils from 77 schools across the Central Belt of Scotland. The participants are drawn from different social, economic, religious and cultural backgrounds, to work together to deliver projects to benefit their local communities. The innovative combination of an outdoor learning residential and urban community-based project helps to break down barriers that exist within our communities, supports young people to develop their confidence and provides them with the skills and attributes needed in transition to further education, training and employment.
Free practical training designed to increase parents’ and carers’ awareness of bullying and the other risks and challenges children and young people face online. It includes a practical, hands-on session on social media, looking at how to set and manage profiles and privacy settings, to help ensure that children and young people are safe online.

“The Lord is close to the broken-hearted
and helps those who are crushed in spirit
Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
“When he came to his senses, he said,
‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare,
and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him:
Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.
I am no longer worthy to be called your son;
make me like one of your hired servants.’
So he got up and went to his father.
But while he was still a long way off,
his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him;
he ran to his son,
threw his arms around him and kissed him.

Our Caritas pupils have certainly had a busy week so far.
Firstly Caitlin, Rachel, Niamh and Marjie attended the “Flame 2017” event in Wembley Arena in London, then the whole group spent an overnight at the Conforti Institute in Coatbridge.
Well done for showing commitment and dedication to your faith.
Heavenly Father, you are with us in our faith journey
Trusting in you, we join one another as a community
A community of faith on a journey
A journey to grow ever deeper in our faith…
In our Love…
In our Desire to long for you…
Along the way, remind us of your Love
Of your sacrifice for us
Of your ever mindful presence
Let us never lose hope along the way
Help us to be strong…
Strong in Faith…
Strong in Love…
Strong in our Desire to be ever mindful of your presence
For it is in your strength and Love and the Graces you bestow upon us, that we can go out and share in your Love and Faith with all those in our community.
Morgan completed a two day “Let’s Get Cooking” training course in Glasgow. She will now work alongside Lisa Robertson with primary pupils of various age groups as part of our Enhanced Transition Programme.
Yesterday a group of pupils from St Gerard’s brought their parents’ up to the Home Economics department for a Healthy Eating activity. Lisa Robertson in her role as Enhanced Transition Coordinator has been visiting our primaries and inviting the P7’s to CNHS workshops to encourage Parental Engagement and Family Learning.
Next week we will be welcoming pupils and parents from John Paul II.
I know that trust is a big part of experiencing peace and that fear has no place in my life. Most of the things I worry about or dread don’t even happen. So I’m declaring my trust in you. I’m releasing the reins of my life again and asking you to take control. I may need to pray this same prayer daily, but I’m tired of the frenzy of life that leaves my schedule and my thoughts without any margin. I need more of you, Lord, and less of me.
Whenever I’m stressed, anxious, or afraid, help me remember to run to you. You’re the only one that can calm my fears and end my fretful behaviour. Whether in trivial or heavy matters, I know you will not only give me peace; Lord, you will be my peace. And when I draw close to you—in prayer, in reading your Word, in helping another, in taking my mind off myself—you will be there.
Maker of all, transform my heart through my Lenten journey of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Help me to see the dignity in all around me, made in your image and likeness. Inspire me to share the fruits of your creation so that all your people can become artisans of their own destiny. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
Our Father……..

Lord, I thank you for bringing me to another day.
May I live it completely for You,
Through you,
With You and in you. Amen
