Thank you to everyone who donated money to the Spina Bifida zip-slide event today. An exciting and new way for us to raise money – nearly £600 for a worthy cause.

On Saturday 17th June a group of young people who attend an after school group with Bellshill Youthwork – Community Learning and Development team – took part in the Mini Mudder obstacle course at Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfriesshire. Mini mudder is a 1 mile run where young people tackle various muddy and wet obstacles and challenges and get round the course by working as part of a team. The group consisted of 1st year pupils from both Bellshill Academy and Cardinal Newman HS and they are aiming to complete a North Lanarkshire Challenge Award.
CNHS and Bellshill Youthwork Team are extremely proud of everyone in the group, their attitude and belief in themselves in tackling this course, not just as an individual but as part of a team, was outstanding. They worked well together, listened to instructions, took part and helped each other around the course and most of all they had an amazing amount of fun. It is great to see the pupils from two schools bond together on the day, make new friends and face difficult challenges together.
Other photos can be viewed in the facebook page – Bellshill Youthwork.
Some of our proud parents have been posting tweets of photographs from Tuesday’s BGE Award Ceremony. Follow the school twitter on @CN_HS for news, information and photographs from all our exciting events.
Mr Smith (Science Dept) would like to thank everyone for their support in his 1st Tough Mudder. Eleven muddy obstacle laden miles later he has raised raised £560 for Alzheimer’s Society. Well done.
