The Parent Counil AGM is being held in the JHNS at 7pm on September 11. The PC is a great way to help our school on the road to further success. New members are always welcome, and as this year is the schools 40th anniversary it will be a great time to get involved.

S1 Enterprise classes have been inviting their parents to attend coffee shops in Snap Dragon this week. The pupils plan, prepare and serve all the sandwiches, cakes, tea and coffee. Jobs include food preparation, dish washer filling, serving and front of house duties – all carried out in our professional kitchen and restaurant.
It’s fantastic to see so many parents and family members getting involved in the life of the school – Parental Involvement is so important to staff and pupils. Thank you.
This years’ welcome disco saw 124 P7 pupils come together to have fun in CNHS. Music, dancing, games and a photo booth were just some of the highlights.
SQA Examinations: Senior Phase Exam Leave – May 2 till June 2 2017
Exam leave for senior phase pupils S4 – S6 begins on Tuesday May 2 and will finish on Friday 2 June 2017 (inclusive). All pupils in S5 and S6 will have exam leave.
S4 pupils who are sitting any National 5 qualifications, regardless of the subjects involved, will have exam leave for the whole of the SQA examination diet i.e. May 2 till June 2 2017 (inclusive).
Pupils on exam leave may still come to school to study. The library and other ICT facilities will be available for use. Pupils are also able to meet with their subject teachers at the times displayed on their current senior phase timetable.
Pupils who are entered for National 4 qualifications only will not have any exam leave and will follow an amended timetable alongside a planned programme of events.

Free practical training designed to increase parents’ and carers’ awareness of bullying and the other risks and challenges children and young people face online. It includes a practical, hands-on session on social media, looking at how to set and manage profiles and privacy settings, to help ensure that children and young people are safe online.

There is a Parent Council meeting this Monday at 7pm in the John Henry Newman Suite. This is an extra meeting scheduled to discuss the upcoming 40th Anniversary of the school. The agenda is about fundraising for this event and all parents and staff are invited to come along.
The S5/6 Parent Meeting will be held in school on Tuesday January 17 from 4.05pm. Parents should sign in at the yellow entrance where they will be given some important information leaflets.
A Careers Fayre is also included in this evening with a large number of stalls offering information and advice. Have a cup of tea or coffee and browse the interesting and informative displays.
