Daily Prayer

Almighty God, kindle, we pray, in every heart the true love of peace, and guide with your wisdom those who take counsel for the nations of the earth, that in tranquillity your dominion may increase until the earth is filled with the knowledge of your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Employability Event

Thursday 31 March – 3pm and 7pm – Employability Drop-In.

Today we have an amazing opportunity for parents and pupils to speak to major employers about careers and skills development. This joint venture with Bellshill Academy is an excellent way for our S2 and S3 to investigate and plan for their futures.

Busy Bees

After a successful trip to the Arts and Crafts exhibition in the SECC earlier in the month, the S1 members of the group used skills they had learned to make ‘Decopatch’ Easter boxes which were then filled with chocolate eggs.  The boxes were displayed in the library and attracted a lot of attention and positive comments.  IMG_5095

Netball

Congratulations to the senior girls netball team who just beat the teachers 13-12 last night in a hard fonetballught but enjoyable game. This photo shows the pupils plotting ways to stop Mrs McGhee from scoring.

Employability Event – Thursday, 31 March 2016

Parents and pupils in S2/S3 are invited to ‘drop-in’ between 3.00pm and 7.00pm to a joint school event with Bellshill Academy to be held in Cardinal Newman High School on Thursday, 31 March 2016 to find out more about developing employability skills in our students.
The event is being organised in partnership with Skills Development Scotland, Community Learning and Development, North Lanarkshire’s Working, Routes to Work and Job Centre Plus
There will be a ‘market place’ with various business information stands, local colleges, universities, training providers, former and current students and planned workshops running in break-out rooms which parents and their children can book on to when they arrive at the school. Workshops include – Finance Matters, Skills Development Scotland (MyWorldofWork) and interview techniques.
This is a fantastic opportunity for S2/S3 students as all the information you need to know about careers and relevant qualifications will be made available to you.
For more information, speak to Mrs O’Keane or Mr Conaghan.

Daily Prayer

Loving ProviGodder, you gather me in this upper room with your son, to be fed by your love. At that supper, Jesus told us to “love one another” and I know that is the heart of his gift, his sacrifice for me. I ask that I might find the source of my own heart, the meaning for my own life, in that Eucharist. Guide me to the fullness of your love and life.

School Prayer
Lord, I thank you for bringing me to another day.
May I live it completely for You,
Through you,
With You and in you. Amen
Blessed John Henry Newman, Pray for Us.

Daily Prayer

My saviour, do you invite me to share in the glory of the resurrection? Please stay with me as I struggle to see how accepting the crosses of my life will free me from the power of the one who wants only to destroy my love and trust in you. Help me to be humble and accepting like your son, Jesus. I want to turn to you with the same trust he had in your love. Save me, Lord. Only you can save me.End of world.jpeg

Arts and Crafts

The Arts and Crafts group spent a fabulous day at the SECC this month.  Knitting, sewing and patchwork quilting workshops were just some of the activities on offer.  Demi Monteith was chosen to model an authentic and very expensive Kimono.p3041648 p3041665 p3041680 p3041675
