Employability Event
Thanks to all the presenters, pupils and parents who attended last nights employability event. A very worthwhile and informative evening with ‘Employment Stands’ from a whole variety of companies.

Employability Event
Thursday 31 March – 3pm and 7pm – Employability Drop-In.
Today we have an amazing opportunity for parents and pupils to speak to major employers about careers and skills development. This joint venture with Bellshill Academy is an excellent way for our S2 and S3 to investigate and plan for their futures.

Busy Bees
After a successful trip to the Arts and Crafts exhibition in the SECC earlier in the month, the S1 members of the group used skills they had learned to make ‘Decopatch’ Easter boxes which were then filled with chocolate eggs. The boxes were displayed in the library and attracted a lot of attention and positive comments. 
Social Studies
Mrs Daly, Mr Crawford and Mrs Smith accompanied S3 Geography pupils to Dynamic Earth today. The pupils were able to find out information about the earth in general and environmental features and problems. 
Netball
Congratulations to the senior girls netball team who just beat the teachers 13-12 last night in a hard fo
ught but enjoyable game. This photo shows the pupils plotting ways to stop Mrs McGhee from scoring.
Employability Event – Thursday, 31 March 2016
Parents and pupils in S2/S3 are invited to ‘drop-in’ between 3.00pm and 7.00pm to a joint school event with Bellshill Academy to be held in Cardinal Newman High School on Thursday, 31 March 2016 to find out more about developing employability skills in our students.
The event is being organised in partnership with Skills Development Scotland, Community Learning and Development, North Lanarkshire’s Working, Routes to Work and Job Centre Plus
There will be a ‘market place’ with various business information stands, local colleges, universities, training providers, former and current students and planned workshops running in break-out rooms which parents and their children can book on to when they arrive at the school. Workshops include – Finance Matters, Skills Development Scotland (MyWorldofWork) and interview techniques.
This is a fantastic opportunity for S2/S3 students as all the information you need to know about careers and relevant qualifications will be made available to you.

Please stay with me as I struggle to see how accepting the crosses of my life will free me from the power of the one who wants only to destroy my love and trust in you. XL Group
A very interesting and informative day for our 9 XL students.
Jim Stirk from Animation Jam came in to film our Zombie Apocalypse Movie for our Arts and Employability project.
Arts and Crafts
The Arts and Crafts group spent a fabulous day at the SECC this month. Knitting, sewing and patchwork quilting workshops were just some of the activities on offer. Demi Monteith was chosen to model an authentic and very expensive Kimono.
