The Wild About Scotland bus visited us today! On the bus, the children from all of the classes got a chance to learn about some native Scottish animals, in particular beavers and wildcats. It was a very informative and enjoyable day!
The children at Science club investigated lots of different principles of Science, including forces and friction. All of it was done in a fun and investigative way.
Miss Ross and P3/4 have been conducting lots of science experiments, investigating friction.
The children were out and about searching for minibeasts in the school grounds.
P5/6/7 have been learning about the human body and have been investigating the joints in the human skeleton.

P5/6/7 visited the wind farm as part of their investigation of renewable energy.

Through exploring non- renewable energy sources, I can describe how they are used in Scotland today and express an informed view on the implications for their future use. P1-4 visited a local farm to visit the chicks that they had hatched in school a few months ago. The have now grown into hens and are producing eggs of their own.  We enjoyed the Autumn walk and the chance to see the cattle. Our highlight of the visit was the opportunity  to sit in the big red tractor !
I can explore examples of food chains and show an appreciation of how animals and plants depend on each other for food.

Our science & technology week got off to a flying start today with a visit from ThinkScience ! John brought along an inflatable planetarium to help us learn more about the stars in our night sky.
