Please find below all the staff photographs taken at Dounans Residential Outdoor Learning Centre this year. The pupils that attended experienced many enjoyable and challenging activities that we are sure will last in their memories for a lifetime! Primary 1,2,3,4 were lucky enough to visit Vikingar in Largs, as part of their Viking topic! They got to see what it was like inside a Viking Longhouse, meet some of the Viking Gods and even had the chance to protect themselves in battle from a Viking warrior! Oh, and before the children went home, they had some outdoor fun in a local swing park! Here are some pictures of our trip!

On Monday, Primary 1-4 and Primary 5-7 went to SummerLee to take part in some Scottish workshops! Miss Ross and P1-4 were learning all about the journey of wool and how kilts were made! We even got the chance to weave some wool to make a pattern of our own.

Before the October holidays, Primaries 1-4 were learning about the Harvest. They visited Almond Valley Heritage Centre and got the chance to learn about where their food comes from and how it is gathered. Here are some pictures of their day! You will notice that they got the chance to be ‘Tattie Pickers’ for the day and all the vegetables that they collected were used to make some delicious soup!
Hello again! Our second action packed day at Kilbowie has come to and end. Everyone is having a blast, trying their best in any challenge thrown at them and making new friends.
P7 pupils are in three different  activity groups and therefore at different places on and off the campus throughout the day. Today, Mr Bissett managed to photograph two of the groups so tomorrow he is going to join the girls group to capture some photographs of them. The instructors have all been taking photographs and are going to give us a copy of these at the end of the week also.
Had a great birthday! At supper, there was a big cake with my name on it and everyone sang Happy Birthday to me. I have lots to tell you about when I get home. Love Liam.
I went Gorge walking today and I jumped off a huge rock. My head went all the way under the water. Love Savannah.
I went rock climbing today and guess what, I am still in one piece! Iam proud because I managed to climb every single rock face and not everyone was able to manage that! Miss you (a little). Love Ethan.
I went Gorge walking today and have made some good friends in my activity group. We held each others hands walking up the river but I still managed to slip three times! In the afternoon we went skiing and I made it all the way to the top. To finish it off I went for a jump in the sea before supper. Love Jenna.
Hi everyone. Today I went dry sky slope skiing and rock climbing with my instructor Donna. Skiing was sore on my legs but I managed quite well eventually. Love you guys, Lewis.
I have had a really fun day. I went kayaking and canoeing. I was a little scared at first but ended up loving it. Take care and see you soon. Love Callum.
We kayaked oved to an island today and then climbed a small cliff face. I loved jumping off the cliff face into the deep water today. Even though it was freezing and high, I managed to do it three times! Love Thomas.
Some of our P7 children have joined their peers at Rochsolloch and Tollbrae PS for a fun filled week at Kilbowie. Activities have included canoeing, walking, rock climbing, nightline and gorge walking. What an amazing experience !
The children helped Alan Kain as he completed work to create the fence for our wildlife garden.
P5/6/7 took their learning outside to create these wonderful symmetrical patterns using natural materials.
