Lanarkshire Foodbank Visit

Calderbank and Tollbrae responsible citizens visited the Foodbank to help sort the grocery donations.

Representing my class, school and/or wider community encourages my self-worth and confidence and allows me to contribute to and participate in society. HWB 1-12a, HWB 2-12a

As I explore the rights to which I and others are entitled, I am able to exercise these rights appropriately and accept the responsibilities that go with them. I show respect for the rights of others. HWB 1-09a & HWB 2-09a

Playground Improvers!

Our mural is taking shape despite the rain ! We are hoping to complete our mural and the repainting of  all of our playground markings soon.

We are keen that everyone gets the opportunity to get involved in the painting and hope that all children bring in old clothes and shoes, if they haven’t already done so, to enable them to take part.

A Rights Respecting School

This term we will be looking closely at the UN Rights of the Child and our Rights and Responsibilities in school. We are hoping that all our good work over the new year will help us to achieve a very prestigious award called ‘Rights Respecting Schools’ issued by the charitable organisation Unicef. It recognises the work children themselves do in raising awareness of their rights and the rights of all children across the world. With Rights comes Responsibilities and at Calderbank we will be working very hard to ensure that we are all aware of our rights and what we need to do to fulfil our responsibilities as Responsible Citizens of Calderbank Primary School.
