As part of our social studies primary 5/6/7 visited The New Lanark Heritage Site. A most enjoyable day was had by all. The children were able to experience what it was like to live in New Lanark in the early 19th century.
Nursery Open Day
Parents and children from our local community enjoyed a playtime and a chat in our new nursery provision.

Harvest Assembly
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our food collection and who came along to help us celebrate and give thanks at our Harvest Assembly. P3/4 gave a wonderful performance and shared the important message of caring and sharing.
They explained that as a Rights’ Respecting School we want to help ensure that people in our local community have the right to nutritious food. Therefore, we are delighted to be making our donation to the Lanarkshire Food Bank in Airdrie.
Our parents & friends enjoyed refreshments in our Fairtrade cafe’. We are extremely grateful to everyone who entered our raffle for a Fairtrade hamper, we raised £53 and the lucky winner was Mrs Reid !

P1/2 Outdoor Numeracy
P1 took their learning outside the classroom, going on a number hunt, sequencing and ordering numbers. P2 were investigating place value, counting the tens and units.
Funtime Maths Roadshow
We ended our numeracy & maths week on a high when primary 3 – 7 enjoyed a visit from Stem Ambassadors, Mr & Mrs Lyden. They had great fun doing a wide variety of maths puzzles.

P1/2 Block Printing
We enjoyed using primary and secondary colours to create prints using polystyrene printing blocks.

Homemade soup
P5/6/7 made some delicious soup with our home grown potatoes and turnips. All of our children enjoyed the tasting session.
When preparing and cooking a variety of foods, I am becoming aware of the journeys which foods make from source to consumer, their seasonality, their local availability and their sustainability.
