Good morning everyone. Hope you are well. Here is an idea for any pupil who enjoy Arts and Crafts. To make the most of a once a day outing to the beach, Children could make their own snack to take and gather some pebbles and shells to make a miniature beach or garden of their own.
What fun we had at Christmas. We enjoyed our Christmas party and saying hello to our special visitor.
We enjoyed participating in our Nativity, “The Magical Christmas Jigsaw”.
Esme received a star award for her role – putting up the jigsaw pieces with minimal support during the Nativity. Well done Esme!

We all enjoyed listening to the music from the Marymass folk singers and joining in the
fun with Centrestage.

Following our Makaton training session last In Service day, we concluded that for both March and April
we would ta the ke time to consolidate our learning. We have kept the theme centered around the lunchtime menu.
February’s Makaton board centres on the topic, ‘Celebrations’.
We’ve all enjoyed our schools 40th Celebration and we hope you enjoyed it too.
It was lovely to see everyone joining in and signing with us.
To consolidate learning, our Makaton display board for the month of January features commonly used signs and food items from the
lunchtime menu. Next month the focus will be on Celebrations.
The Makaton signs for December centre around Christmas.
We are focussing on the sign for Jesus, Angel, Santa, Christmas tree and other related words. Staff are learning key words to sign from Christmas carols that will be sung at our yearly Christmas Service.
As part of our Quality Improvement, we have formed a Total Communication Working Party, committed to promoting the use of Makaton signing throughout the school.
The monthly display is based on current events or themes that are relevant to our pupils. Each class will select one or more to focus on. Staff will continue to develop their core vocabulary to ensure consistency throughout.
November’s board is centred on lunchtime, featuring signs for touch, smell and taste.
December’s board will of course have a Christmas theme.
K.F enjoyed a sensory version of the story “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.”
The class chose bright paints to create their Firework pictures.
