I don’t think people should be allowed to clone themselves or other people because it might be dangerous. People might also use it in a bad way, to make lots of strong people and build an army. It’s just plain wrong!
I think yes and no because you could cure diseases with a clone but the world is over populated already, but also people could use it as a army. Also people anywhere could break into a lab and clone themself so they would have to make sure it was secure and safe.
I don’t think that you should be allowed to clone living things because if you were cloning a baby it may have some problems like having different body parts and have it would be really sad if someone’s child had died and made a new one, I mean the child wouldn’t be able to live any longer than the clone.
In my opinion, scientists should not be allowed to clone themselves or others because it is very risky. If something went wrong we might end up cloning a disease!
I think it’s good that everyone is different. Being different from everyone else makes the world a better team because everyone has different skills and qualities.
Clones could get mistreated because people might think that they’re not real people and shouldn’t be treated with the rights and respect we get. This would be very unfair for clones and they would live an unhappy and isolated life.
There are lots of things about cloning which are still a mystery, even to scientists. Especially since they haven’t cloned a human before and don’t know the affects or what could happen. Therefore, cloning is a risk!
I think people shouldn’t be allowed to clone as they might take advantage of it and use cloning for bad things; such as making an army for hurting people. It is very risky, what if something were to happen during the process? On the plus side, it could help other people survive by providing them with new body parts that need replaced. However, something unfortunate might happen to you throughout the cloning process.
It is very risky as the outcome is so unknown! I wonder what advancements they will continue to make in this field and whether one day we may see a cloned human! Who knows?! There are all sorts of reasons for and against but at the moment, for many ethical reasons this process isn’t allowed.
I think it would be a great idea to try it once. Experimenting on someone that would be willing to try and that knows that it could be dangerous. But after that it would not be alllowed just in case people used it for wrong reasons.
It would be great to try it but i think it’s too big a risk.
The clone could have a disease such as cancer or motor neurone disease.
They could also have a disability like deafness or unable to walk.
People could make clones for bad reasons like creating an army or strong men. The clone might not me what you thought it’d be like, it could be the exact opposite! If you were a really nice person, your clone might be a really bad person.
Cloning endangered species could be good but not humans. Over population could easily happen and that would cause a lack of resources and people would definitely use it for wrong reasons. I can’t think of a reason for it but I’m sure there is one. Cloning also seem too futuristic. Instead of cloning things people should be focusing on tackling diseases like cancer and ebola.
No I don’t think that scientist’s should be allowed to clone humans. I think that because it can be dangerous when you have a baby or in general life. I also think this because we all have our own talents and differences, and if you think about it we would live in a boring world if everyone was the exact same and did the same things.
There are good and bad points about cloning. It may help with research for diseases and body parts, for example, if someone was hurt in an accident scientists/doctors may be able to replace a limb or vital organ. The down side is that people may think that this is wrong and can be used to do bad things like robbing banks or take over countries with armies of clones.
There are good and bad point to genetic cloning, The use of cloning to treat genetic defects or to replace vital organs would be beneficial to many family’s. Although I don’t think that there are any benefits to cloning a human for any purpose.

You’ve definitely taken a stance here Molly! Thanks for commenting. Is this the only reason you are against it? Are there no benefits?

What a mature and thoughtful comment, Eve. You have raised some valid points. Well done.

Thank you for your comment Isla, you have put forward a strong argument. I tend to agree, it seems much too advanced and ‘Star Treky’ to me!
