Pupil of the Month

Our latest Pupil of the Month is Sam! Congratulations! Sam was awarded Pupil of the Month for working hard and achieving high standards, being positive, cheerful and happy in school. And we think he’s like a ray of sunshine in our class.

Hats for Headway!

Today, 16th May,  we are all wearing different hats and donating money to Headway. This is JRSO initiative to make pupils more aware of the importance of wearing cycling helmets for our own safety. If you do not wear a helmet when cycling you could have a really serious head injury if you fall off your bike or have an accident. ALWAYS WEAR YOUR HELMET! We posed for photographs before we started our work. Well done everyone for taking part and donating to a very important charity!

Dancing Queen!

Mairead took part in the Fraser Highland Dancing Festival this weekend and she returned with not one but 2 trophies! Well done, Mairead. We already know Mairead is a champion dancer as she was one of our stars at our fundraising St Andrew’s Talent Show in Term 2 and everyone admired her Highland dancing then. We like having lots of talented people in our class who set themselves goals and achieve high standards. Lately we have had several performers making up plays and dances in their playtimes who then entertain us in class. Perhaps we have a future star in our class who will one day be famous for their performances. I can think of a few names!

P4/5 Update

We may have been a bit quiet on the blog but we have all been very busy!

Helen took part in the Scottish Gymfest this weekend in Irvine and was awarded a medal for her team performance. She brought lovely framed photographs into school for us to admire. Helen was standing high in the air held up by the outstretched hands of two of her teammates! Impressive!

Emmy was voted Pupil of the Month for being helpful in class and in the playground. She always puts others before herself and volunteers for any tasks that need to be done. She is a dedicated Junior Leader and a good friend to many pupils. Well done, Emmy. It’s great having you in our class.

Three pupils in our class took part in the Inverness Area Gang Show at Eden Court. They all performed very well and were applauded for their singing, dancing and acting. The audiences appreciated the hard work everyone put into the shows and money was raised for Scout funds.

Daisy and Helen took part in a gymnastics competition – the Woman’s Artistic – in Aberdeen. Daisy was awarded a Gold award and Helen received a Silver award. Well done, girls. Fantastic achievement.

This term we are learning about the Commonwealth Countries and the different animals and plants that live there. In science we are finding out how animals and plants can be classified and we are doing lots of art work with them too.
