Lochardil Tea Towel!

The Parent Council have prepared a tea towel for Lochardil Primary School. The school opened for it’s first session in August 1964. So, after all the hard work from the children, teachers and staff at the school we are delighted to offer for sale two different Lochardil Primary School Tea Towels. One towel is for P1 – P3 and the second is for P4 – P7.

Whilst the towels will be available to buy later in the year, you can pre-order your towels now to ensure that you are able to get one (or 2 or 3!) which will make great Christmas presents.

Order forms will be available from the school from Monday 30th September.

Please follow the links to view the towels and access the order form.

Coffee Afternoon Success!

macmillan coffee morning

Everyone in P6/7 just want to say a massive thank you to all that contributed to our Coffee Afternoon to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. We were overwhelmed by the number of cakes brought in by pupils and parents – so thank you all very much. We now have to count all the money we raised which will go towards helping people who are fighting cancer.

We made a whopping £822!! It’s fantastic, so well done!

Here are some pictures from the afternoon . . . thank you again,

From all the pupils in P6/7, Mrs Macleod, Mrs Prentice and Miss Shaw.

Thank you for your support with the event!

This week in p1M

This week we will be busy practising the number 4 and the letter a. Remember to keep practising at home also- a homework for Monday night and 4 homework for Tuesday night.

Also remember to keep practising your little words so that you can get new ones on our ‘word days- Tuesday and Thursday.

Another reminder! Our coffee morning is on  Friday and we are looking for donations of baking. You may also bring in some of your pocket money to treat yourself to a cake!

September has been a very busy birthday month for some of the boys in our class. Kai will be Fantastic Five tomorrow, Lucas was Fantastic Five on Saturday and Aidan was Fantastic Five last week! Happy birthday boys!

Meet the teacher

A huge thankyou to all the visitors who came to our classroom for Meet the Teacher. We hope you had fun being shown around and enjoyed looking at all the artwork we had on display.

Well done to our Pupil of the Month. We are all  so proud of  you, Alice and hope you can keep up all the hard work and enthusiasm you have displayed so far in P1!

We had another Birthday King in our class this week who was celebrating his  ‘Fantastic Five’ birthday. Happy birthday to you Michael!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and  remember to visit the school fete on Saturday morning. I might even see you there!

A visitor from Headway Highland

We had a visitor today from Headway Highland. Her name was Susanne Brown and she showed us a film about a boy called Johnny Rocket. He was very silly because he didn’t wear his space helmet and when his space rocket crashed he hurt his head! It made us think about why it is so important to wear a helmet when we are on our bikes and scooters.

We then tried an experiment with 2 eggs. One was protected with a “helmet” and it didn’t even crack when it was dropped on the ground and the other one had no protection and it smashed to bits when it was dropped!

Susanne said something like that could happen to our heads if we didn’t wear our helmets when cycling so REMEMBER- ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET ON YOUR BIKE OR SCOOTER!

Our self-portraits

Another fun week in Primary 1M! As part of our topic we painted portraits of ourselves, looking carefully at the colour of our hair and the colour of our eyes.

Do you like the finished results?

Today we had a birthday boy in our class who was celebrating his “Fantastic Five” birthday! Doesn’t he look smart with his birthday king crown on?

Friday is always an exciting day in our class as we all look forward to seeing who will be taking home Zoe the Zebra and Floppy’s Fun Pack. James had such a good time with Zoe last week and Lucy was very busy completing some of the activities inthe fun pack. Whose turn will it be this week? I wonder…..

REMEMBER TO RETURN YOUR LIBRARY BOOK TOMORROW SO THAT YOU CAN GET A NEW ONE FOR THE WEEKEND!
