Tattieman Competition and Potato Harvest
Congratulations to Scott and Riley for winning the competition. A big thank you to Mr. Grant for doing the judging and for helping us to grow our tatties this year. Mr. Grant had a hard job deciding who would get the prizes as all the entries for the competition were fantastic, so imaginative and a lot of hard work and effort had gone into making them. We harvested our potatoes on Tuesday. It was a good excuse to get hands really mucky!! We had a fairly small crop this year. Lots of rain and not too much sun probably had something to do with it! Tomorrow we are looking forward to eating our tatties when we have our potato tasting.
“Tattieman” Competition
The last day for harvesting our potatoes and sending the results to the Potato Council is Tuesday 18th June. To celebrate this occasion we are holding a competition in our class. The children are invited to be as creative as they like and decorate a potato using a variety of odds and ends. Children might like to make a tattie princess, tattieosaurus, tattie superthero etc. Entries should be brought into class on Monday 17th June. We are also planning to have tattie tasting on Friday 21st June.
