Loch Ness Topic

Last Friday we had a really interesting visit from  Heather who works for Visit Scotland. She answered all our questions and showed us some items which are on sale at the Tourist Information Office. We found out that visitors are attracted to Scotland, and in particular to the Highlands, by many things, including our scenery, birds and animals, castles and even snow!

Children In Need

Lots of spots in our class today to help raise money for Children in Need! Thanks for all your kind donations.

We are currently trying to make “boats that float” from odds and ends as part of our Loch Ness topic. Last week we undertook experiments to see whether things would float or sink and had fun making predictions. Next week we are looking forward to a visit from a lady from the Tourist Information Office. We hope to find out what makes the area we live in attractive to tourists.

Cinema Trip

Although disappointed we couldn’t see Jasper, Penguin Explorer due to technical difficulties, we were thrilled to watch Ice Age 4 instead. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning out of school, including the bus journey and eating our snack in the cinema! A chant of ASDA ASDA ASDA went up as we passed our new local supermarket!!! A big thanks to our parent helpers.
