Nurture visit to Pan & Plate
On the 18th December, Dumfries Academy’s S1 and S2 Nurture pupils were treated to an unforgettable Christmas dinner experience at Pan and Plate restaurant, owned by former Dumfries Academy pupil Arran Seymour. The trip, which took 23 Nurture pupils along with three senior students, was part of a unique initiative designed to provide the students with an experience they would never forget.
Jack Crosbie and Alfie Copland, two of the senior pupils, took the reins of the dinner service for the junior pupils. Braidyn Gordon, another senior pupil, was given the incredible opportunity to work in the kitchen under the guidance of Arran Seymour himself.
The pupils were treated to a delicious festive meal, with a choice of Turkey Dinner or Braised Beef for the main course, followed by either Sticky Toffee Pudding or a Berry Sundae for dessert. The food, which received glowing reviews from all who attended, was prepared and served by the staff at Pan and Plate.
A huge thank you goes to Arran Seymour and the team at Pan and Plate for making this special Christmas experience possible. Mr. Scott, principal teacher of Nurture, expressed his thanks:
“I can’t thank Arran enough for his support with the opportunity and for being so welcoming to our pupils. Experiences like this are amazing for our pupils, and I can’t thank Arran enough for his generosity. He went above and beyond to make the day unforgettable for the kids.’
