Theme:Climate Change
Key Learning:

The main reason in understanding Climate change is because our lives are effected by all the different factors in which are making our world deteriorate. If we contain to live the way in which most of us are living, our environment will affect global warming. The evidence of climate change are; higher temperatures, changing rainfall, changes in nature, sea level rises, retreating glaciers, sea ice and ice sheets. All of these factors cause a change in our climate because anything that affects the amount of energy being absorbed causes a production in long or short-term cooling or warming.

Impact on my views/lifestyle/practice:

The impact of climate change is that the higher the temperature, fresh water shortages, higher sea levels and extreme weather events will each affect regions differently. The vulnerability does not only depend on the nature and level of climate change but the capacity of change to be adapted in the population. Before studying climate change I did not have much knowledge about the issues and problems created but now it is scary to think of all the habits I do and the impact it has on climate change. Having looked more closely and researched into the impacts of climate change I now have a clear understanding of what lifestyle choices I make and I want to work on these habits in-order to prevent any more damage. I was able to identify the main causes by completing the measure your footprints activity, I was shocked by the result of the lifestyles choices I make as it leaves a total of 18.6 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. Having looked at the breakdown the highest percentage is in the category of travel which is at 50%. This encourages me to not use the car as much and to travel by pupil transport. Another area of development would be to be more careful with electricity within my house, for example, remember to turn off lights when not in the room. Having been given a lecture and done further research on climate change I now want to help improve the climate and I want to continue researching into these issues.

Areas of interest to explore further/develop:

Having explored the main causes of climate change, I would now want to learn in more detail ways in which we can try and reduce these issues over the course of years.

I would also like to explore these issues and see the effects it will have in many years to come.
