Reading– In their reading groups all read a page and discuss what was happening. Then using cue card with different words on them, get them to write down the word that I said.

Writing- Biographies: Come up with literal questions and answer their shoulder partners.

I took out the groups and listened to their reading to ensure they were pronouncing the words correctly and ask them to spell the words and ensured they got it correct.

My role here was to go round and ensure that pupils had appropriate questions and just help with spelling.

Pupils were fully engaged as they were getting asked questions so had to concentrate and they also had to follow through so they knew when to read. Me taking out groups save the teacher a lot more time to focus on other subjects.

This was interesting for the pupils as they felt as if they were interviewing, this engaged them into writing a biography because it was something new. The next step would be to write an autobiography. I contributed to the lesson by assisting the teacher to take the work load off her.

Interval
10.40-12.15 Mathematics-

S.C- I can use inverse calculations to check answers

S.C- I can use odd/even numbers as a checking strategy.

I was just supporting the teacher and helping pupils who were stuck. Pupils struggled at first with inverse calculations but once the teacher and I explained to individuals all the problems were solved. My help was needed as there is just not enough time in the day for one person to get round 33 pupils.
Lunch
1.00-3.00 Science- S.C- I can take accurate notes of new terms. This science lesson was all about living things. My role here was to make sure that the pupils knew the difference between living things. Also to ensure they were taking notes and spelling it correctly.

Pupils engaged fully with this lesson as they were interested as to the different types of living things. They liked learning new long words and this encouraged them to do further research. I help the teacher ensuring that everyone was listening and copying down.
