Reading– In their reading groups all read a page and discuss what was happening.

Writing- L.O: Learning to make our writing more interesting.

I took out the groups and listened to their reading to ensure they were pronouncing the words correctly.

My role here was to go round and ensure the pupils spelling was correct and it ensure it made sense.

Pupils were fully engaged as they were getting asked questions so had to concentrate and they also had to follow through so they knew when to read. Me taking out groups save the teacher a lot more time to focus on other subjects.

Pupils used a thesaurus to find more interesting vocabulary, this will improve their language and allow them to develop more vocabulary. I was able to mark some jotters to save the teacher some time.

Interval
10.40-12.15 Mathematics- Different types of games relating to arithmetic I was just supporting the teacher by ensuring the pupils understood the tasks that were to be completed and to mark their work to ensure they were correct Pupils loved that the teacher made the lesson fun by making it into games and also competitive. This engaged the pupils and made them eager to start the next topic. I was able to help the teacher with the pupils who need a bit more support and this gave the pupils more confidence in their maths.
Lunch
1.00-3.00 Science- L.O: We are learning to create our own structures.

S.C: I can design my own paper aeroplane

S.C: I can compare and contrast paper aeroplanes of different sizes

My role here was to get the pupils into pairs and line then up alone the playground line. I had to ensure they understood the rules and no cheating took place.

Pupils engaged fully with this lesson as they were intrigued as to which paper aeroplane would go further. This allowed them to evaluate the situation and experiment, skills which are required. For the lesson to be successful, two members of staff made it a lot easier and the teacher was very grateful for my help.
