General Information

Applying for a Place

We’re delighted that you’re considering Adelphi Nursery for your child!

We accept applications from when your child is one year old.

To apply for a place, simply visit the nursery to collect an application form.

Our team is available to help with applications Monday to Thursday, between 10.00am and 2.00pm, and we’re always happy to answer any questions you may have.

Eligible 2-Year-Old Funding

Some 2-year-olds may be entitled to funded early learning and childcare.

  • You can find out more about eligibility through Glasgow City Council.
  • If your child is eligible, applications can be completed online.

Apply for your nursery place as early as you can – there’s no need to wait for funding to be in place.

Then, around six weeks before your child’s second birthday, if your family circumstances mean you may be eligible for funded Early Learning and Childcare for 2-year-olds, you can submit your funding application.

Not sure if you’re eligible?

Don’t worry!……

Our friendly team is always happy to help answer your questions, guide you through the process, and point you in the right direction.

Arriving and Leaving Nursery

To help keep everyone safe, please ensure the entrance gates are securely closed whenever you arrive or leave the nursery.

If someone different will be collecting your child, please let a member of staff know in advance.

Indoor Shoes

To help keep our playrooms clean and comfortable, please provide your child with a pair of slippers or plimsolls to wear indoors.

When it’s time to explore outside, children will wear our nursery wellington boots so they can enjoy outdoor play in all kinds of weather.

Spare Clothes

Children learn best when they can explore freely—and sometimes that means getting messy!

Please provide several sets of labelled spare clothes, including:

  • Tops
  • Trousers or leggings
  • Underwear
  • Socks

Each child has their own nursery peg and storage bag for their belongings. If your child brings a backpack, we’ll place their spare clothes into their nursery bag to help keep pegs organised.

Supporting Children’s Wellbeing

Children in our 3–5 playroom take part in PATHS (Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies), a programme that helps children understand their emotions, build positive relationships and develop confidence.

Through fun activities, stories and discussions, children learn to:

  • Recognise and talk about their feelings
  • Understand the feelings of others
  • Build friendships
  • Solve problems together
  • Develop kindness, resilience and empathy

Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing is an important part of everything we do at Adelphi Nursery.
