Join the Academy9 Sustainable Solutions Challenge, kicking off on the 6th of January 2025!
Are you ready to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers? Academy9 is thrilled to announce the launch of our annual Sustainable Solutions Challenge – a dynamic STEM competition. This exciting 10-week programme offers young minds the opportunity to dive into the world of sustainable engineering and make a real impact on their communities.
What is the Sustainable Solutions Challenge?
The Sustainable Solutions Challenge is more than just a competition; it’s a journey of discovery and innovation. Over the course of 10 weeks, pupils will work in teams of up to six members to design and build a sustainable road. This hands-on project will not only enhance their understanding of STEM concepts but also foster teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking.
Who is it for? P6, P7, S1, S2 and S3 pupils, either in class or in after-school clubs
When? 6th January to 21st March 2025 for a maximum of 10 hours, flexible based on your timetable.
Professional Mentorship
One of the unique aspects of this challenge is the support from professional mentors. Each team will be paired with an experienced mentor who will guide them through the project, offering insights, advice, and encouragement. This mentorship is invaluable, providing pupils with a glimpse into real-world engineering and sustainability practices.
The Journey to the Final
After weeks of hard work and collaboration, the most innovative and effective projects will be shortlisted for our 2025 Sustainable Solutions Final. This event will be a celebration of creativity and ingenuity, where teams will present their projects to a panel of judges and compete for the top prize.
