Imagine delivering STEM in schools and loving every minute of it
Academy9, Transport Scotland’s education programme, are now working with the RAiSE (Raising Aspirations in Science Education) network across Scotland to share engaging opportunities for delivering STEM and Careers in the Primary School classroom.
The Academy9 team shared our ‘Roadshow II’ activity plans and classroom presentations, and the RAiSE Primary School Development Officers (PSDOs) tried the activities out.
The Roadshow II is a nationally available resource to support teaching specifically about the following careers:
- Ecology, Nature Detectives
- Geology, The Ground Beneath our Feet
- Engineering, Think Like an Engineer
The PSDOs identified multiple curricular and extra-curricular ways to use the ‘Roadshow II’. They were keen to highlight that the Academy9 resources would significantly support teachers in providing these lessons with no background knowledge of the careers covered.
