Our Parent Council
At Our Lady of the Annunciation Primary School, we greatly value the important role that parents and carers play in the life of our school.
All parents and carers of children attending OLA automatically become members of our Parent Forum. From this wider group, parents and carers come together to form our Parent Council.
Our Parent Council works in partnership with the school to support our children, represent the views of families and help make OLA the best it can be.
What Does Our Parent Council Do?
Our Parent Council provides an important parent voice within our school community.
Members work closely with the school to discuss and contribute to areas of school life and improvement, while also organising fundraising events and activities for our children and families.
Over the years, Parent Council fundraising has helped to:
- enhance our digital learning and maths resources
- subsidise school trips and outdoor learning experiences
- purchase playground picnic tables
- support improvements and repairs to outdoor equipment
- contribute towards interactive technology for our classrooms
We are very grateful for the time, ideas and support our Parent Council gives to our school and children.
Get Involved
We would love to see parents and carers from across our school community getting involved.
Being part of the Parent Council is a great opportunity to meet other families, share your ideas, have your voice heard and play an active part in school life.
You don’t need to take on an official role to get involved. Parents and carers are welcome to attend meetings and support activities and events whenever they are able.
Every parent voice matters, and new members are always very welcome.
