Pope Francis Faith Award

Pope Francis Faith Award

The Pope Francis Faith Award (PFFA) encourages children to deepen their faith and, importantly, to put their faith into action through the way they live, serve and care for others.

At Our Lady of the Annunciation Primary School, the Pope Francis Faith Award journey begins in Primary 6 and continues throughout Primary 7, when children work towards completing the Award. The programme links closely with their preparation for Confirmation and helps children explore the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and consider how they can use these gifts in their everyday lives.

A special part of the Award is the partnership between home, school and parish. Children are encouraged to carry out Faith Actions in each of these areas, showing love of God and love of others through practical acts of faith, kindness and service. They record and reflect on their experiences as their faith journey develops.

On successful completion of the programme in Primary 7, children receive their Pope Francis Faith Award certificate. Children who demonstrate active participation in the life of their parish may also be recognised with a Parish Commendation, confirmed by their parish priest.

Through the Pope Francis Faith Award, we encourage our children to recognise that faith is something we not only learn about, but live out each day within our homes, school, parish and wider community.
