S6 Evidence Gathering

Our S6 Evidence Gathering period will run from January 30th until February 10th.

Pupils can access school to study during days they do not have a scheduled paper, and can speak to their subject teachers during their usual timetables time if they wish, but classes will not run as normal.

On Thursday 9th and Friday 10th all pupils should meet in the assembly hall at 9am to work on their Level 6 Leadership Award. Resources have been posted on Teams to allow pupils to work on this,

Advanced Higher Hub-S6 Options

Pupils in S6 have the opportunity to study courses at the Glasgow Caledonian University Advanced Higher Hub. Places are not guaranteed and will not be confirmed until August so pupils must still pick 4 subjects. If they get a place on a AH Hub course, they can then replace one of their options choices with this.
Message from Advanced Higher Hub Team

In August, following SQA results, we will welcome placement requests from schools for suitable candidates.

The Hub not only delivers Advanced Higher level qualifications but offers the added value of experiencing key aspects of university student life, providing an immersive transition experience to Higher Education. All pupils who enrol become Associate Students of GCU, receiving full access to all online learning resources on the University platform, a student card, support from a dedicated team of teachers who are here to help them succeed, and academic preparedness for university including development of digital learning skills.

Glasgow Timetable

We offer pupils a blended learning approach to studying with us throughout their Advanced Higher qualifications. More information can be found in our online prospectus here: https://bit.ly/3cz0nhg and the timetable is attached. We welcome any questions you might have – please email ahhub@gcu.ac.uk and one of the team will get back to you.

We are incredibly excited to welcome pupils to the GCU Glasgow Hub, and look forward to working with you across the coming year.
