Glasgow University offer a variety of pre-entry programmes for targeted pupils within schools in the West of Scotland. Their Programmes offer an insight into specific subjects, a chance to experience Higher Education and ensure you have the skills necessary to be a successful independent learner. Programmes include:
Access to a Career
For S4-S6 pupils interested in Accountancy and Finance, Engineering or Teaching (Primary)
Reach (Access to the Professions)
For S4-S6 pupils interested in Dentistry, Law, Medicine or Veterinary Medicine
Top-Up Programme
For S5/6 pupils interested in going onto college or university.
To take part in one of our pre-entry programmes you must meet one of the
following criteria:
- Live in an SIMD decile 1-4 (MD20/40)
- Scottish postcode area
- Have care experience
- Are estranged from family and living
- without family support
- Are seeking asylum in the UK
- Have refugee status
- Are a carer (provide unpaid care)
You may also be considered if you have faced extenuating circumstances that have impacted on your school performance. Please discuss this with your pastoral care teacher.
