It is normal for children to transfer from primary to secondary education between the ages of 11 and a half and 12 and a half years of age. The Date of Birth Range for S1 pupils for Session 2026/27 is 1st March 2014 to 28th February 2015.

You will receive email communication with information on arrangements by November prior to your child’s entry to secondary school in August. This email will contain a link to the online registration form to register your child for their catchment secondary school.
