We have had a fantastic week at Wake Up Shape Up. The turnout has been brilliant. Pupils and staff were left feeling energised and ready for the day of hard work ahead. Wake Up Shake Up Wednesdays will start on Wednesday the 24th of May at 8.30am. All pupils, parents and carers are welcome.
This week is Health Week at Balornock Primary. We will be focusing all our learning on a range of health matters including stranger danger, summer sun safety, internet safety, physical and emotional health and sexual health and relationships. Today in Primary 2 we went on a local walk to Springburn Park. We wanted to get some fresh air and some exercise. Last term our school held a fundraising event to raise money for the Marie Curie Charity. The whole school took part in a Daffodil Tea, performing songs and poems to our parents, carers and local community members. They sat back and watched our performances whilst enjoying a range of delicious cakes with a tea or coffee. This event was a real success! Afterwards, some of our senior pupils had the opportunity
This year Glasgow City Council launched a photography competition for Earth Hour 2017. Boys and girls across the city were asked to take photographs of what they would like to change in their local environment that would make their community more eco friendly. Primary 5 would like to reduce traffic in our local area, create more green space, educate our local community about the importance of keeping our environment clean
The Rookie Rockstars are back and have been working with the boys and girls preparing them for our concerts next week. Our concerts last year were a huge success. We have no doubt that this years will be even better. It is the expectation that all pupils attend and perform in the concert. Are you ready to rock? We are! The Rookie Rockstars will be working hard with our children next week in preparation for our Rookie Rockstar Concert performances. This week Balornock Primary took part in a ballot to choose our school mascot as part of our Rights Respecting Schools Project. There were lots of fantastic entries and 13 amazing finalists to choose from. Every class had a chance to vote. It was a very exciting day for everyone.
Next week the pupils and staff at Balornock Primary will be voting to choose our Rights Respecting Schools (RRS) Mascot. The mascot will be used in any RRS work that we do. Look at our fantastic finalists. It is going to be a tough decision for our voters.
