Huge congratulations to our Term 3 house winners – FORTH! All the boys and girls were absolutely over the moon to find out they had won for the second term in a row!! To celebrate, they had a fun-packed afternoon at an Easter Disco! During this, they danced, played games, had snacks and even had the chance to get the face painted! Last term our school held a fundraising event to raise money for the Marie Curie Charity. The whole school took part in a Daffodil Tea, performing songs and poems to our parents, carers and local community members. They sat back and watched our performances whilst enjoying a range of delicious cakes with a tea or coffee. This event was a real success! Afterwards, some of our senior pupils had the opportunity

We have had an amazing Literacy Week at Balornock Primary. The boys and girls have taken part in a variety of Literacy based activities including library visits, author readings, paired reading and storytelling. The children have also carried out a number of literacy based writing activities in class including authors plans, story retells and book reviews. This year Glasgow City Council launched a photography competition for Earth Hour 2017. Boys and girls across the city were asked to take photographs of what they would like to change in their local environment that would make their community more eco friendly. Primary 5 would like to reduce traffic in our local area, create more green space, educate our local community about the importance of keeping our environment clean
Our Learning Reflection This week Primary 3/2 have had a super week doing lots of literacy related activities. Holly – We got to dress us as a character from our favourite book. Our teachers dressed up too. I dressed up as Wonder Woman. Miss Davidson dressed up as the Witch from Room on the Broom. Ella-Rose – We swapped teachers and they read us their favourite story. The Rookie Rockstars are back and have been working with the boys and girls preparing them for our concerts next week. Our concerts last year were a huge success. We have no doubt that this years will be even better. It is the expectation that all pupils attend and perform in the concert. The boys and girls in Primary 1a have been doing lots of writing this week. We have all been Star Writers by remembering to include a CAPITAL letter, finger spaces and a full stop in every sentence that we write. We have also been trying really hard to use the lines to make sure we do our letters the correct shape and size. Look at how clever we all are…..
