Our Rights Respecting Mascot We held a competition for the children at Balornock Primary to design a Rights Respecting Mascot for our school. We had two winning entries. Our winning designs were created by Daniel Ferguson and Alisha McKnight. We have combined both of their designs to create Bal-B – our Rights Respecting Mascot. The author Ross Collins visited Primary 2 and Primary 3/2 today. We had a super time listening to Ross’ experiences of reading, writing and drawing. He read his famous ‘There’s A Bear On My Chair’ and showed the boys and girls how to draw a polar bear. It was also great to see some of our parents at todays session. Huge congratulations to our winners of the House Sports Challenge….KELVIN!!!! All pupils participated with effort and determination which resulted in a fantastic morning! Many thanks to our Mrs Smith for making sure everything ran smoothly and to our P7 pupils for helping with the organisation of the morning. Stacey from Tesco’s Farm to Fork trail visited Primary 1’s this week to talk about healthy eating. They learned about different types of fruit and veg and explored where bananas come from. They learned how to peel a banana like a monkey and taste it. Thank you Stacey for taking the time to visit us.
Primary 2 have really enjoyed all the planned activities that they have taken part in this week as part of our Health Week. They particularly enjoyed our community litter pick and fitness with Jo our Active Schools Coordinator. Here are some pictures of them enjoying themselves.
This week Primary 4 visited our local Tesco to take part in the Farm to Fork trail. The boys and girls learned more about where food comes from and how its gets to the shops and then onto our plates. We had a fantastic time at Zumba during our Health Week. We would like to say a big thank you to Carole our Zumba instructor who got us moving and grooving and learning some new moves. Even our dinner ladies joined in.
