Hi everyone, hope you’re all well.  Thankfully we had some much needed sunshine this week which meant we were able to have lots of opportunities to take our learning outdoors.  Fingers crossed it continues into next week and the September weekend holiday!

In Numeracy we focused on revising our times tables and extending it to include multiplication of 4 digit numbers by 1 digit number.  Make sure you ask your child to keep practicing at home either on Sumdog or jus by writing their own sums.

Costa Rica was our country of choice for Guided Reading.  It was very interesting finding out about their Independence Day celebrations.

For homework, each pupil was asked to complete their 500 word story including themselves as the main character.  I’ve been very impressed by the originality and use of exciting language in the texts.

Our topic has now evolved into each pupil being part of family in a small village called Catburg, near a city in the mountains called Yoronto.  Each family created their own mime to show how they help the local environment.

Just a reminder that the September weekend means that children will be off school on Friday 25th and Monday 28th September.  Take care and have a great week.
