Pollok Park: An Autumnal Wonderland

Wow, what an amazing trip we had to Pollok Park today.  We managed to cram so much into a short time.  Thankfully we were blessed with a stunning  sun-kissed autumn day that really highlights just how beautiful Pollok Park is at this time of year.
Here is a list of some of the activities we took part in, make sure you ask your to explain more!

  • risk assessing as we go (safety is very important!)

  • making a Story Stick

  • going on a woodland wander

  • relating an upturned tree to a storm similar to the hurricane that hit our own Arcadia Island (from our topic)

  • Save a falling leaf!

  • listening to silence in the woods (a tricky task for some)

  • making a hammock from a tarp

The main activity was our art for the week.  Photography is a hugely important part of art and one that is often overlooked in Primary.  However with the easy access for most to a camera it a great way to capture a moment and use different filters and other tools to turn it into something quite unique.  Here are some of P6’s photos with an Autumn theme.
