Hello, lovely to see you again!

This week we had focus on Iceland for our Guided Reading.  It’s amazing just how different each country has been so far and we’ve not even left Europe yet!

In numeracy we looked at subtraction and the different strategies we can use from Glasgow Counts.  It’s been fun to get back into it after 5 months, some pupils even thought they’d forgotten how to do subtraction.

We had loads of fun continuing on with our topic.  As each session unfolds so we find out more about our place in the world and the effect we all have on a rapidly changing climate.  So far we have founded our village, city and twinned exotic island.  Each group used their research and creativity skills to develop each aspect of our fictional community.  Here are some photos of the astounding work.

The whole  school focus this week was Mental Health.  A hugely important aspect of all our lives, no matter our age.  I was really taken aback by the maturity in which P6 openly discussed their experiences and feelings and just how supportive they are of each other.  It’s a really special class.  As part of learning we used art to communicate how we feel.  See below for just some of the amazing work produced.
