Primary 2… The Best Class in the World!

Primary 2 pupils have been so busy doing lots of learning and having lots of fun together. Here are some of the things we have been learning about.

In Maths we have been practising our counting using cubes. (Laiba)

We have been learning about sounds and practising the sounds. (Ahmed)

We are learning about tens an units for example 24 has 2 tens and 4 units. (Abdul)

We have been learning how to sit nicely… we have to do good looking and listening. (Hafsah Saeed)

We have been learning about odd and even numbers. (Inaaya)

I have learned that 6 is and even number and 9 is an odd number because when you make partners 9 has 1 left over. (Haadiya and Maryam)

We have been learning to sound out words and we have also been practising our reading. (Aamira)

We are learning to put our hands up to ask and answer questions. (Maryam)

We have been learning how to partition numbers for example 64 is the same as 6 tens and 4 units. (Arfa)

We have been learning about empty number lines. An empty number line has no numbers on it and we use it to add. You circle the biggest number and write that number at the start of the number line. If the small number is 5 then you have to do 5 jumps. Then you have to write then numbers on that come next after the big number that you started with. (Hirrah)         Mrs Hunter-Andreuccetti thinks this is an AMAZING comment by Hirrah. Very well done!!!

We have been learning to subitise. If you are subitising you will be able to look at a number of dots for a little minute and then you will know what the number is just by looking at it for a short time. (Lily) Mrs Hunter-Andreuccetti says very well done!!

We are learning how to teach our turtle to be sensible, to be good, to line up nicely and to be fabulous! (Maryam, Haadiya and Inaaya)

We have been learning to listen carefully to our teacher. (Alisha)

We have been learning about take away sums. (Muaaz)

We have been learning how to be nurturing and how to be respectful. (Yahya)

What an amazing group of Primary 2s that we have here is Saint Albert’s! Mrs Hunter-Andreuccetti is very very proud of you!!!
