Weekly Update – 24 March 2025

Term 3 Learning Showcases – we are delighted to share with you a sample of the wonderful learning happening in classes during this term.  Visit the class page and select the relevant classes: click here.

Before 9am and After 3pm – we have had a number of parents report safety concern about unsupervised children climbing on the main playground boundary walls before school.   Another ongoing issue before 9am is a few children’s use of mobile phones in the playgroundFor those children whose parents choose for them to bring a mobile phone to school the rules are:

  • the phone must be switched off as soon as they enter the playground.
  • the phone is handed in to the office/ teacher at 9am and collected at 3pm.

Please support us in keeping everyone safe.

Chewing gum –  periodically we have issues around children eating chewing gum in school.  It would be greatly appreciated if you can reinforce that chewing gum is not allowed in school or at break times.

Water Wardens – linked to our whole school learning “My Brilliant Machine” our Health Hub MAD group have come up with a plan to encourage everyone to drink water throughout the day. The objective is to drink one normal sized bottle of water over the school day.

Here are the rules:

  • Water only – not juice!
  • You are encouraged to drink a normal size water bottle. If you don’t have a bottle then classes should still have a plastic cup. The teacher can decide how many cups you should drink to earn the point.
  • You can only earn one point per day. You won’t get two points for drinking two bottles. Like anything, drinking too much water is not good for you so we are only asking that you drink one bottle.

Reading Café 3 – Tuesday 25th March 9:30 – 10:15am – the Health Hub and Community Champions will run our third reading café of the session.
